As we grow older, our body becomes more prone to certain types of conditions which can be prevented early on through proper nutrition and habitual exercise. It is very important that at a young age, exercise should be a part of our daily schedule.
Men and women oftentimes have different health and exercise agendas in mind. Take for example the men.
Most men are more concerned about building up their muscles. They want to look bigger (so as not to be cajoled as being feminine or female-like in form) not fatter, definitely.
That is why when one surveys the community gym, it is common to witness the men going over the weights.
For men following this rule, it is very important that they forget this myth of a mantra, "No pain, no gain." Muscle build-up does not come overnight. Discipline is the key to achieving the muscular, well-toned look. Yet discipline does not mean making the body suffer painfully and stressfully from ill-advised exercise.
In any physical activity, the body needs to start slow. Warm-ups are probably the most important part in any exercise program.
The men should try out weight-gaining exercises that they enjoy. Once the fitness plan is put into action by both the body and the mind, the men should gradually increase the amount of weights that they use.
Besides the build-up of muscles, the men may want to think about other forms of weight training for the control of body weight and body fat.
Aerobic training activities are also good for the men. Weight training coupled with aerobics makes for a well-balanced fitness program.
Some aerobic forms of exercises include cycling, jogging, Frisbee-throwing, basically sports that work up the cardiovascular system.
Beginners do not need to be overly enthusiastic about any kind of fitness plan. A safe fitness plan is one that is practiced gradually until the body conforms to the schedule.
As I said earlier, discipline is the key. Over exertion will only make your body lose in the end to stress and injuries.
Before going into any exercise plan, it is highly recommended that the men consult their doctors first. Remember, overall health is not just about exercise. Proper nutrition plays an important factor as well.
